About

For the past 15 years, I have led product teams at all stages including my own startup, early-stage fintechs, and mature tech organizations. I've launched brand new products and scaled others. Capital One Lab

Capital One's Lab is incubating, accelerating and investing in the startups that are paving the way for the future of FinTech. Within the Lab, I led a $100M project in the consumer identity space developing products that, in the age of AI, could help humans prove they're ...well, human.

Google

Search safety and security

Noogling

Google processes over 8 billion searches every day. My team built products that ensure those searches keep user data safe and secure.

Consumer fintech

Credit Builder

Americans pay tens of billions of dollars each year in overdraft fees, and many rely on predatory payday lenders to get access to cash. In doing so they damage their credit scores, further compounding their access to cash and credit. This is why we built Brigit and helped over 4 million people break free of financial stress, unfair fees, and worsening credit scores.

Using credit wisely

We built CreditWise to help millions of Americans understand, improve, and protect their credit. With over 30 million customers, CreditWise is helping users establish and grow their credit, alerting when inevitable identity theft occurs, and it's the only app that provides this experience in English and Spanish.

Designing and building a new generation of brokerage apps

At Capital One Investing, we took a new approach to rebuild legacy mobile trading apps. We combined our best-in-class design, extensive user research, and an existing 5-star platform and transformed the way trading was done at Capital One.

My casts

When NPR built NPR One, they created an audio app that connects listeners to a stream of public radio news, stories, and curated podcasts.

We took this one step deeper to create a finely-tuned stream of updates based on a seamless integration with products and services already used by listeners in their everyday lives.

Fintech-as-a-Service

We originally built a consumer finance app, Rize, with the thesis that too many people are spending way more money than they're earning. It turns out that we weren't too far off.

Along the way, however, we discovered that the technology we built to power our app is more impactful as a platform, making financial services simple and accessible. Today, Rize enables fintechs, financial institutions, and brands to build across multiple account types with one API.

Data + Design

Contributing author · E-book

Information design is about understanding data.

Whether you're writing an article for your newspaper, showing the results of a campaign, introducing your academic research, illustrating your team's performance metrics, or shedding light on civic issues, you need to know how to present your data so that other people can understand it. Data + Design is a free e-book to explain key concepts to improve the way you present data.

I am proud to have collaborated on this project with more than 50 design leaders, thinkers, and data geeks from around the globe.
